We are pleased to be running Powered Growth for the second time this year in conjunction with the HW Chamber of Commerce. The Powered Growth Forum has been developed by Arrivista & the Chamber, looking for businesses who want to take their growth to the next level. The event will address specific challenges to growth faced by SMEs across all industries. The evening will be presented by Simon Williams, owner of Arrivista and one of his past clients Rob Turner, owner of Turner Construction.

Alongside him, Rob Turner will be talking about his success and how he has put his experience and learnings into practice along with the actual results for his own business.

Rob Turner founded Turner Construction in Penkridge, Staffordshire in 2001. By 2009 he had built a company specialising in providing concrete bases for the mobile phone radio masts. With a turnover of £160K he had experienced all the challenges of creating a profitable company from scratch, but he knew the going was just about to get even tougher. As saturation point was fast being reached with UK base stations, he was looking to move into other areas of construction and had decided to target small builds and specifically 2 storey extensions, even though he knew the building industry in this area, was experiencing its worst recession in living memory. Other companies in the market were going bust almost daily, but he had a vision of how he would excel where others had failed.

Today Turner Construction has a great reputation for high quality work within the home build sector. With the original target market at its core, the company has also diversified into areas such as wind farms. Interestingly, Rob has grown the business 8 fold over the last 5 years and is now in a position where his hard work means he can now appoint a general manager and he has time to have fun dipping his toe in the property development market.

Rob’s success is down to his vision, tenacity and sheer hard work …… plus just a little help from his friends, including his business coach!
